Update and some Tips

It is Week Two of my Transformation Workout. I officially joined the Transformation Contest last week. I did this to have additional motivation in my goal of maintaining a weight of 145lbs.

I also made some measurement last week. I wont bore you with the details but I know you will be interested to know that my waist circumference have reduced by 3/4". I hope it continues well up to the end of this contest.

Another thing that keeps me going are social support and tips from the web and blog sites of Mr. Craig Ballantyne author of Turbulence Training. I am posting one such tip I received below:

5 Unique Fat Burning Tips
By: Craig Ballantyne, CSCS, MS

I was just reviewing a big file of all the new exercise, diet, and
research proven fat burning tips I wrote down for 2009, and I
wanted to share 5 BIGGIES that can help your clients get more
results AND make your awesome workers even better..

So here we go:

#5 - Recent research shows shuttle-running is tougher than running
intervals in a straight line...

...so if you want to burn fat faster than ever, make sure you
incorporate old-school shuttle runs (i.e. classic suicide type
drills) into your fat burning interval programs.

#4 - Use a food log.

"According to Men's Health (Feb 2009, p 38), keeping a food log
helped subjects lose 3.5 more pounds than subjects that didn't keep
the log."

#3 - Hit a personal best in each workout.

This is an oldie, but a goodie. There are a few reasons you need to
do this:

a) First of all, everyone loves progress, and if you can achieve a
personal record in each workout (i.e. could be # of pushups, plank
time, etc.), then you will feel a HUGE sense of accomplishment.

b) More personal bests = more results. Plain and simple.

c) You will get addicted to the workouts, and always want to come
back for more attempts at breaking records.

#2 - Get a trainer or join a bootcamp

"According to Men's Health magazine, (Dec, 2009), beginners who
work with trainers get more results than beginners who workout by
themselves". Guaranteed.

#1 - Read a motivational quote every morning.

I promise you that it will elevate your motivation and inspire you
to reach your fat loss goals.

Here's the first motivational quote you can read tomorrow morning:

"Be loud and proud of the healthy changes you are making in your
life. There are many more folks secretly wishing someone will take
charge and be a healthy role model for them. It might not happen
overnight, but if you continue to lead by healthy example - without
preaching or being condescending - you can build an entourage that
will help you reach the next level." - Craig Ballantyne

Those are 5 unique tips to help you lose fat.

One week rest - Busy, busy, busy

Lately I am not hitting the gym. I find various reasons for not working out. Reasons like I have too much work to do, the gym is too far, I can rest for one week and be back the week after and not lose strength. Even using my unability to stick to my diet as a reason. Reasons which are really valid if I need validation.

I was not like these when I started. I have been working my butt out for the past two years. At the start I was very consistent. I was practically going to the gym daily. I was as people might call a gym rat. I was losing weight, feeling great and looking great.

Then the dreaded plateau came. I hit it at 92-94 kilos. It gets harder just to maintain my current weight. I have tried lots of ways to slim down to my target of 145lbs. But it was always in vain.

Looking back and analyzing how I hit a plateau. A few reasons come to mind.

1. I am not as eager or motivated as I was before.
2. I am not disciplined enough with my nutrition and exercises.
3. Too much information

So for the next few months I will be going back to basics.

1. I will use a new program I got from Turbulence Training. You can check it out at this link.

2. To gain more strength, I might try a program I found on this site. 100 pushup challenge.

Of course I will be needing also your help. Please vist my site as often as possible and I will try to keep it as updated as possible. Who knows I might even post daily....

My Before and After Pics

The other day, a friend and officemate of mine checked out my blogsite. After viewing it he
asked me how come I haven't posted a before and after picture.

I guess I never posted one because I still don't think that I have achieve my ultimate goal. And that is weighing 145 lbs. Or maybe just maybe I don't have the guts to show people how I looked before.

But after checking out some old photos of mine. I decided to publish it so that those who will be reading this will say to themselves. If this guy can do it, so can I

So without further a do. Here are my pictures. I hope you like it and motivates you to make a journey of change.

You Tube Videos

It seems that people are getting in to the fitness bandwagon. I got friends who are really training hard. Their reasons might not be the same as mine. Still it is really nice to know that people are really taking time to find the health nut in them.
BTW I will have a friendly boxing competition BY AUGUST WITH JULY. I know it sound a little awkward and funny???!!! ""
By his emails he is really prepped up. He got good wushu gym, a sparing partner and a mentor. Take a look at his photo ops.
